Description

Gertrude Hannah Hallam (nee Charles) was born in Lancashire, England and married James Hallam before immigrating to New Zealand in 1896. The Hallams had no children of their own, although their love of children was well known. Mr and Mrs Hallam were members of the Church of the Venerable Bede, giving many items of furnishing to the church and parish hall. See "From Bush to Swamp: The Centenary of Shannon, 1887-1987."
