This photograph, looking west towards Featherston Street from Rangitikei Street. On the left of the photo is a two-storey brick building erected by Bett and Bayly in 1915 and occupied in 1927 by Selwyn Motors (part of section 263). On the adjoining section (section 264) is a brick building occupied in 1927 by NZ Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd (later the premises of Dalgety and NZ Loan Ltd). The heritage buildings in this area has been demolished. In front of A E Turner's hairdressing shop is a delivery vehicle for C.M. Ross Department Store.
