Description

Shown here is Niven Engineering at 35 Church Street (later renumbered 278) occupying land where the Salvation Army shop now trades [2015]. Niven's many assets/branches were sold off around the late 1970s by Brierley Investments Ltd. Niven Engineering is the only remaining branch. In 1988, Niven's relocated to 36-50 Armstrong Street. Mr Archibald is shown on the running board of the car possibly owned by Mr Bill Minto, a welder and engineer for the firm.
