The house, constructed for Mr and Mrs Edwards Collins c1878, stood on Rangitikei Line opposite the Newbury School. It was later burnt down. The Collins property extended from the Kairanga-Bunnythorpe Road. It was said that the house had interesting cast-iron embellishments and that quality timber had been used for the doors, architraves and scotia.
