This photograph looks up towards Broadway Avenue. On the left is the MLC building and beside that is the Clarendon building. The building on the corner of Rangitikei Street is the Bank of New Zealand. The Australasian Temperance and General Mutual Life Assurance Society Ltd (T&G) building is on the right (built 1937) and beside that is the Bank of Australasia.
