Creation of Stopbank - Assembly of Steam Shovel
- Description
This photograph shows the assembly of the steam shovel used for building stop banks. Note the hanks of fibre drying in the foreground. This indicates that a flaxmill was operating in the vicinity (perhaps the Tane milling near the Opiki Suspension Bridge).
