"A view looking across the western side of The Square to Coleman Place. The Clarendon Hotel stands on the corner of Rangitikei Street, on the right, and the C M Ross Bon Marche store on the far left. The cannon was placed in The Square in 1909. The Union Bank of Australia, next to Bon Marche, was removed c1909-1910."
