Description

An All Saints Children's Home was established in 1906. This building was constructed in Pascal Street in 1931, to replace the original house on the corner of Ada and Ferguson Streets. In 1964, changing attitudes saw more children placed in foster homes and the building was replaced with a smaller family home in Ngaio Street. It was bought by the Catholic Church and used as a convent by the Sisters of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was sold again in 1974 to the Open Bretheren Queen Street Chapel and used as private rental accommodation, and, after being sold by them in 1998, has been offered for sale a number of times.
