The All Saints' Children's Home Trust was established in Palmerston North in 1906, to provide a home for children who were orphaned, destitute or otherwise unable to be cared for within their own families. This building was constructed in Pascal Street in 1931, to replace the original house on the corner of Ada and Ferguson Streets. In 1964, changing attitudes saw more children placed in foster homes and the building was replaced with a smaller family home in Ngaio Street. The building was then bought by the Catholic Church and used as a convent by the Sisters of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was sold again in 1974 to the Open Brethren Queen Street Chapel and used as private rental accommodation. After being sold by them in 1998 it has been offered for sale a number of times.
