This photograph came from a small photograph album that belonged to Mrs R Andrews of Rangitikei House. This photograph bears the caption, "View of dam, Mangahao Hydroelectric Works." The man from 2014P_IMCA-Coolstore_010007 is standing at the far right, next to an unidentified woman. She could be the Mrs May shown in photograph 2014P_IMCA-Coolstore_010045. The other two figures are unidentified. The Mangahao Damm, completed in 1924, is situated inland from Shannon, and still supplies electricity to a wide area.
