Plan for what became the Coronation Fountain in The Square. It was built in 1902 and was moved from the centre of the Square to opposite what is now the City Library in 1926, and then to near the corner of Broadway and The Square in 2005.

The fountain has plaques that commemorate three events; it was erected to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII in August 1902 and also commemorates the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Borough of Palmerston North, and the reaching of city status in 1930.
