Mrs Moira Ellen Lawson Cruickshank, eldest grand-daughter of Samuel Jickell, shows his photograph album which she lent to the Palmerston North Public Library for copying. Samuel Jickell was Palmerston North's first qualified engineer and Borough Engineer 1904 - 1919. Ian Matheson, Records officer at Palmerston North City Council, later became the city's Archivist.
