This is the programme for the Twenty-Sixth Annual Festival of the Manawatū Competitions Society, which was held in the Opera House, Municipal Hall, St. Andrew's Hall and Orient Hall between 29 August and 3 September 1949. The competition categories included elocution (speech and drama), dance and music (both vocal and instrumental). Most entrants were children or young people.
