A children’s party held in the grounds of “Woodhey” (now called Caccia Birch House), the then home of Mr J H P (Jack) Strang and family, in Te Awe Awe Street, Palmerston North. The 35 or more children are seated outdoors at a large table while some mothers and nannies are standing around. Uniformed maids stand ready to supply refreshments.
