Description

Henry Haydon (1847-1912) was Mayor of Palmerston North 1899-1901, and also served as a Borough Councillor for 16 years, between 1895-1912. Born in Cornwall, he spent his early years at sea before coming to New Zealand, where, in 1888, he purchased a grocery business in The Square.
