Samuel Watkins Luxford (1856-1925) was a Borough Councillor for Palmerston North 1907-1909. He was born in Wellington and moved to the Palmerston North area in the 1920s to farm. Luxford was also a member of the Palmerston North Bowling Team in 1893; on the Manawatu Road Board 1894; a councillor on the Kairanga County Council; Chairman of the Hospital Board 1901-1925; President of the Manawatu A & P Association’ Justice of the Peace, and on the Board of Directors of Abraham and Williams.
