Description

Solomon Abrahams (c1850-1932) was Mayor of Palmerston North 1887-1889, and a Borough Councillor a number of times between 1884-1907. Born in London he came to New Zealand in 1865 and in 1872 commenced business in Palmerston North as a store-keeper, later becoming a pawnbroker in The Square.
