Description

The New Zealand Express Company was started in Palmerston North in c1894 - 1896. It later moved to George Steet. To the left, Andersons Private Hotel in David Street, was established c1897 by Alex F. Anderson. In 1907 it was taken over by Duncan Anderson. In 1967-1968 the hotel was demolished. To the right, the firm of Essex & Co., Stationers was established in 1891.
