Description

Development began on the Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North, named to mark Queen Victoria's 60th jubilee, in 1897. The pergola was built c1916-1917 and demolished c1940. At the far end of the pergola can be seen the gates out onto Fitzherbert Avenue.
