This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 11 July 1958, page 9: "Boys and girls from the driving school received their licenses yesterday at a presentation ceremony. They were presented by Miss J.N. Wallace (the principal of the Girls' High School) and the speaker was Mr. D.C. Pryor (the headmaster of the Central Normal School). The chief traffic officer (Mr. C.J. Robinson) was also present. Those in the photograph are, from left: - Back row: R. Tynan, I. Dixon, C. Pratchett (who received a five-year license for best boy), E. Hubbard, P. Godbaz, C. Parkinson, D. Morgan, traffic officer G.A.M. Syversen (the instructor). Front row: M. Baker, P. Treweek, H. Walker (who received a five-year license for best girl), Miss Wallace, L. Maynard, C. Adlington."
