
Bank of New Zealand Manager's residence, 2 Fitzherbert Street
- Description
This house was the home of the Manager of the Palmerston North Bank of New Zealand , which stood on the corner of The Square and Fitzherbert Street (see the edge of BNZ at left). The building, constructed c1898, is appears to have become a boarding house after the Bank moved to the corner of The Square and Rangitikei Street in 1915. It is said to have been burnt down in a fire in the 1930s.
