Peace celebrations were held in Palmerston North 19 - 21 July 1919. On Saturday 19 July at 9.30 am a 21 Gun Salute under the direction of Col. McDonald was executed. Later, speeches were given at the show grounds. J A Nash, Mayor of Palmerston North, is visible on the speaker's stand.
