This is the programme for the Thirty-Sixth Annual Festival of the Manawatū Competitions Society, which was held in the Opera House, Concert Chamber and St. Andrew's Hall between 11 and 16 May 1959. The competition categories included speech and drama, dance and music (both vocal and instrumental). Most entrants were children or young people. This programme belonged to Mrs Barr and was bound with additional pages, annotated with notes.
