Samuel Dawick (c1829-1888) was the founder of the temperance hotel and restaurant, 'Dawick's Buffet' in 1875, situated in Rangitikei Street. Dawick was married to Rebecca and had two sons, William and Edward. They were amongst the first rate players in Palmerston North.
