This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 16 December 1958: "A party of 54 Australian tourists visited Palmerston North today. They are on a three-week cruise aboard the Himalaya and came to the city by hired cars. The cruise includes stops at Tasmania, Wellington and Auckland. After an hotel lunch today the party dispersed to do some shopping which included purchasing souvenirs and films for the cameras. From left to right are Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Gill, of Tara, Queensland, and Mr. F.L. Preice, of Danderong, Victoria."
