FOOD FOR BRITAIN COMMITTEE

P.O. BOX 332.
Palmerston North,
NEW ZEALAND

8th September, 1950.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Now that the National Council has
decided to discontinue forwarding foodstuffs to Great
Britain the Manawatu Aid to Britain Committee at its
meeting last evening decided to go into recess, but
before doing so it was the wish of the Committee that
I should write to you expressing their deep appreciation
of your help in this very worthy appeal. The many
letters received from the people of England show their
appreciation of what we have been able to do, and the
Committee hopes that this in some measure will recompense
you for the time you have so generously given.

May I as Mayor and Chairman of the
Committee add my personal thanks for your co-operation.

Yours faithfully,

[G. Dramaine?]

Chairman.
