- Description
-
The ‘triangle’ is formed by Oxford Street on the left, Cambridge Avenue on the right and Bamfield Street joining them at the rear. The Post Office is on the corner of Cambridge Avenue and Bamfield Street. Showing in this view are four oak trees planted on 9 August 1902 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII by Miss Symonds, Miss Sextus and Master Wilson. The Band Rotunda was built in 1893. It was financed by Craven of Craven & Brewer. The Rotunda was taken down in the 1940s and the fence was removed ten years later.
