Manawatū Competitions Society certificates received by Jean Hardie in 1944

Jean Hardie participated in the annual festivals of the Manawatū Competitions Society between c.1940 and 1946 and frequently won awards. During the Twenty-first Annual Festival, which took place at the Opera House and Municipal Hall between 8 and 13 May 1944, she was awarded ten certificates.
These comprised: Annual Festival Championship; First Prize, Classical Ballet Dance, 13 and under 16; First Prize, Greek or Central European Dance, 13 and under 16, performing "Zephyr"; Second Prize, Australasian Society of Operatic Dancing (Wellington Branch) Scholarship; Second Prize for Demi-character Dance, 13 and under 16, performing "The Skater"; Third Prize for Demi-character Dance (Members of the Palmerston North Ballet Club), 12 and over, performing "Petite Midinette"; Third Prize, Character Dance (National), 13 and under 16, performing "Czechoslovakinan"; Very Highly Commended, Classical Ballet Dance (Members of the Palmerston North Ballet Club), 12 and over; Highly Commended for Dance Duo, 12 and over, Jean Hardie and Audrey Wilton.
